Bible Study Question #7

Your Spiritual Survival Kit: Daily Questions
These online questions are posted as an additional resource for the Bible study series Your Spiritual Survival Kit.  They are not required to go through the group study.  Rather, they are here to provide you with food for thought and spiritual reflection.  You are also welcome to post your own answer or reaction to each question as a comment here on this blog.  Just remember to respect the opinions and responses of others.  Blessings!

7. 2 Timothy 3:14-17 says, "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." Of the uses of Scripture Paul mentions here (teaching, rebuking, correcting, training in righteousness), which do you need most in your life now?

 1. How would you describe the Bible? What is it for?

Your Spiritual Survival Kit

Today is the official beginning of the first OUT-WORD Bible study.  This weekly study has been prepared for people to engage the Bible on several levels.  Through scripture reading, discussion, videos that lead you through the themes, and questions to respond to both online and in group sessions.  This first six-session lesson is called Your Spiritual Survival Kit.  Based around upcoming Sunday lessons from the Gospel of Luke, in this series of teachings Jesus reveals some of the "survival tools" that God gives us to overcome obstacles in our daily life.  This study will explore and deepen our understanding and practice of Christian qualities such as humility, gratitude, hope, joy, and love.

First - there is an introductory video to watch, available on our website at this link: Your Spiritual Survival Kit Introductory Video.

Next - there will be a question posted online for you every day, beginning today.  Come back here to this blog each day to find your daily question.  Feel free to post your own response as a comment, or just carry the question with you throughout the day for reflection, thought and prayer.

We will be posting dates and times that the weekly group studies will meet.  Currently we have 4 "hosts" who will be having the Bible studies at their homes.  Each of the six sessions lasts about an hour and a half.  We will list the names, places, times and dates for the group studies in our church announcements.  Hopefully one will work with your schedule.

If not, we invite you to consider hosting one of your own.  If your home is not suitable to hosting a group meeting, possibly a clubhouse, the church, or some other location can be found.  Since the study is specifically designed for use with a group, I recommend everyone go through it as part of a group.  If that proves to be impossible and you'd like to try going through the material by yourself, let me know.

Peace,
Pastor Scott
